Posthumous Michael Jackson album to be released in May
The King of Pop’s iconic sound will be resurrected with a brand new album titled ‘Xscape’ expected to be released on May 13
The album will feature eight never-before-heard tracks from the late icon that Epic Records have personally picked from hours of music that CEO LA Reid had unprecedented access to.
The collection of tracks was then handed to famous US producer Timberland who then collaborated with the record label to “contemporise” them.
In a statement, LA Reid explained “Modern music and artistry would look and sound completely different if not for the ground-breaking contributions Michael Jackson gifted to the world.”
“Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with. We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world.”
The name of the album was chosen as a tribute to Michael who always picked a single word album name like ‘Thriller.’ He chose words that had an “edgy quality” to them.
Michael sadly passed away in June 2009 in his LA home.
