REPORT: Peaches Geldof died of a heroin overdose
The mystery surrounding Bob Geldof’s daughter and socialite Peaches Geldof’s death is over with an inquest reportedly proving the mother of two died of a heroin overdose.
According to The Times, Peaches’ toxicology report after the initial failed autopsy, revealed the young mother suffered the same fate as her mother Paula Yates while caring for her 11-month-old son at the time.
The inquest also revealed that the 25-year-old was becoming increasingly obsessed with her mother’s death and the paranormal.
Peaches had previously been involved in a string of accusations surrounding heroin use which lead to several modelling contracts dropped after incriminating photographs of a high Peaches leaked on the internet.
While Peaches eventually cleaned up her act to start a family and live an ‘idyllic’ life in the country side town of Kent, friends we’re still worried her ‘self-medicating’ would rear its head again.
"Whenever Peaches was in trouble, she self-medicated because that was what she had done all her life," a close friend told The Mirror.
"She really tried not to but this was just part of who Peaches was.
"She was very complicated. She desperately wanted to be a certain type of girl with a perfect life and a perfect family,” she added. "Peaches had a dark side. Everyone knew that, including her family who have been through hell with her drug problems over the past decade.”
Paula Yates passed away from a heroin overdose in 2000 while caring for her daughter Tiger Lily.
Peaches was remembered at a ceremony in the same church her mother’s funeral was as well as her wedding to husband Thomas Cohen.
