Skrillex cancels 2013 Stereosonic 'Dog Blood' appearance
It seems Skrillex won't be gracing Australian shores this month, with the announcement he has cancelled his appearance as part of DJ duo Dog Blood at Stereosonic.
“Due to unfortunate circumstances that are beyond my control, I won’t be able to make the Dog Blood Stereosonic dates this year,” the dubstep artist wrote on his facebook page.
“For the record, I love the Stereosonic team and the One Love crew who puts on these events and this has nothing to do with them on their side."
The DJ, who was set to perform at the festival alongside German producer Boys Noize, has insisted he will be back on Australian soil before the end of the year, writing: “I will be spending the rest of this year finishing my new music but will be coming back to do some SKRILLEX shows over New Year’s Eve in a couple weeks and will be spending more time in OZ in ’14.”
Stereosonic will still go ahead as planned, kicking off this weekend in Sydney. The two-day festival will then travel to Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Despite Dog Blood pulling out, the lineup is still set to impress with music heavyweights David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Armin Van Buuren headlining the festival.
UPDATE: Stereosonic has announced Dog Blood's replacement act, booking Mad Decent's GTA to perform at all shows except Adelaide.
“Dog Blood will not be performing this year…but Boys Noize will 1000% be performing in all cities and we welcome GTA as a late addition to all shows except Adelaide,” the festival posted to their Facebook page.
