The Rolling Stones announce Australia and New Zealand tour dates
If you missed out on tickets to The Rolling Stones gig in Adelaide next year, fear not! The band have officially announced that they will be touring Down Under in March and April, adding shows in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland and Hanging Rock in Victoria.
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood will be playing in each city for one night only as part of their ‘14 ON FIRE Tour,’ with past band-member Mick Taylor jumping on board as a special guest.
The band was last on our shores in 2006 for their ‘A Bigger Bang World Tour’ and next year’s trip will mark their seventh visit to Australia and New Zealand.
Front-man Jagger said in a statement: “Can't wait to reconnect with all our friends in Australia and New Zealand. It's been a while since we've played to you all, so we are looking forward to being back on stage and playing your favourite songs.”
“The energy between the band is better than ever and we’re all looking forward to coming back Down Under. I can’t wait to get back on the stage with the boys,’ Richards added.
Fans will be in for a treat with the Stones scheduled to play classics like ‘Gimme Shelter,’ ‘Paint It Black,’ ‘Jumping Jack Flash,’ ‘Tumbling Dice,’ and ‘It’s Only Rock and Roll’ alongside some of their other songs and a few covers.
The set itself will be epic with video screens, special effects and the stage designed around the iconic tongue and lips logo with the standing area offering concert-goers a 360-degree experience.
To give back to their fans, the band will also be releasing a limited selection of $99 seats from each venue via their website on the morning of December 16.
