The Rolling Stones heading to Australia and New Zealand for 2014 tour!
One of the greatest rock bands of all time, The Rolling Stones, are getting set to head back Down Under in 2014 – opening the brand new Adelaide Oval in March.
While further dates on the Australia and New Zealand tour are still yet to be announced, Mushroom Promotions have confirmed that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood will be performing their spectacular live show on Saturday March 22 at Adelaide’s new world class venue.
The stage design for this show includes a 30 metre long ramp which extends right into the audience, and with nearly 60 trucks required for all the staging and production, it will easily be one of the biggest events Adelaide has ever seen. This will also be the only show on the Aussie and New Zealand tour which will feature this level of outdoor production.
What’s more, it has also been announced that Mick Taylor, member of the Rolling Stones from 1969 – 1974 will be a special guest for this show.
“It’s great to be invited to Adelaide to open the historic Oval. We’re really looking forward to doing this gig, it will be the first time we’ve been to Adelaide in nearly 20 years, so see you there!” shared Jagger in a statement.
Keith Richards added: “Hi everyone down in Adelaide, it’s been a while since we were in your back yard. See you on March 22 when we’ll take over your new stadium and make it our own, look forward to it.”
More Rolling Stones concerts in Australia and one show in New Zealand will be announced in the next few weeks, but pre-sale tickets to the Adelaide show will go on sale from 11am ACST on Thursday November 21.
General public tickets will be available from 9am ACST on Monday November 25 through Ticketek.
