4 Of The Most Unforgettable Moments From DMA'S MTV Unplugged Melbourne Performance
ICYMI, DMA'S were the latest Aussie act to grace the MTV Unplugged stage in Melbourne...and yep, their performance was one for the ages.
The band performed crowd favourites including 'Feels Like 37,' 'Delete' and 'In The Air' as well as an unexpected but totally stunning cover of Madonna's 1999 track 'Beautiful Stranger.'
If you weren't able to catch it, here's a rundown of the most unforgettable moments from the show:
1. 'Feels Like 37'
After making their way on stage, DMA'S broke into their opening track, 'Feels Like 37' - an uplifting, guitar-driven song that immediately captured the audience's attention from the first lyric: "I don't feel where you're coming from..." The boys began singing in unison from the lyrics "gone away, gone away, gone away," and incorporated a short guitar solo, amplifying the song's catchy riff and making for a stunning start to DMA'S Unplugged debut.
2. 'In The Air'
DMA'S performance of 'In The Air' showed off Matt Mason's seriously impressive cello skills, and combined with a beautiful violin solo from Jenny McCullagh, solidified the track as a bonafide toe tapper, and broke ice with the audience, paving the way for an incredible show.
3. 'Beautiful Stranger'
The peak of DMA'S stunning MTV Unplugged Melbourne performance HAS to be their cover of Madonna's 'Beautiful Stranger.' The boys did the 1999 classic justice, but added a kick of attitude with punchy violin and smooth vocals. It was the moment we just can't get out of our heads, and yes, it stacked up to DMA'S iconic cover of Cher's 'Believe.'
4. 'Delete'
How could we forget, fan favourite, 'Delete'. DMA'S performance of this debut track was the perfect addition to their moving MTV Unplugged Melbourne performance, and as per usual, tugged at all our heart strings. Incorporating a little more electric guitar, the song drove home on lyrics "I find chorus now," and the repetition of "let it all out," overlayed with beautiful spoken word, "wait for me tonight, open the door."
