Coldplay were formed in 1996 by lead signer Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland while they were studying together at a London uni. After releasing a slew of EP's they hit worldwide success with the their single 'Yellow' and the corresponding album 'Parachutes' in 2000.
