Natalie Portman Reveals That Ashton Kutcher Was Paid 3 Times More For 'No Strings Attached'
Despite having steamy on-screen chemisty for the 2011 movie 'No Strings Attached', it wasn't always sunshine and roses between Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher...especially when it came to their paychecks.
In a recent interview with Marie Claire UK, Natalie explained that Ashton's estimated worth at the time of filming 'No Strings Attached' earned him a much higher salary.
"Ashton Kutcher was paid three times as much as me on 'No Strings Attached'...I knew and I went along with it because there's this thing with 'quotes' in Hollywood," she said.
"His [quote] was three times higher than mine, so they said he should get three times more. I wasn't as pissed as I should have been. I mean, we get paid a lot, so it's hard to complain, but the disparity is crazy..."
"Compared to men, in most professions, women make 80 cents to the dollar. In Hollywood, we are making 30 cents to the dollar."
Luckily, Ashton was quick to show support for his co-star by tweeting "So proud of Natalie and all women who stand up for closing the gender pay gap!"

Natalie isn't the first actress speaking out about the gender pay gap. After Jennifer Lawrence made headlines for her stance against the issue last October, she was paid $8 million more than her 'Passengers' co-star Chris Pratt.
Does this mean there are more positive changes coming? Or do women in the business have a long road ahead for equality?
