The Swimsuit Styles That Will Actually Transform Your Body
Swimsuit shopping is a FKN NIGHTMARE if you're in any way body conscious (aka everyone in the entire world, even supermodels). But there are some tricks to finding a swimsuit that legitimately WILL make you look A++, and funnily enough, you can pull some pretty spectacular optical illusions with swimmers, even though you're wearing basically a few slivers of material. Here are the swimsuit styles that will actually DO something for your bod, and leave you feeling like the hottest extra from Baywatch.
Lack the hourglass figure of, say, Beyonce? High-waisted bikini bottoms can help create the illusion of a waist. Because the line of them hits the middle of your stomach, the contrast between skin and the pants makes it seem like there's more waist definition than you might have. Bonus - they'll help hold in bloating.
Want major cleavage? Like - MAJOR? Halter top style bikini's will give you it. The thicker the halter, the more you can get, because the stronger straps can hoist those babies even higher. Halter tops are also great if you need support for a larger bust too, though - they're basically the unicorns of the swimsuit world.
Whilst we have in the past moaned on about how we want this swimwear style to die in 2016, high-cut swimwear DOES have a huge benefit - if you wish you had supermodel-length legs, a swimsuit that's cut higher on the sides will help you get there. You're basically creating MORE leg with this style.
Want to make larger boobs seem smaller? Because these types of tops cover the entire chest area up to your neck, if you choose one in a dark hue, it'll flatten your chest and therefore make it seem like you have a lower cup size.
If you always wished for Kim K booty, get on the brazilian bottoms bandwagon. The skimpy bikini bottoms make a smaller butt look ~bootylicious~ because they give the illusion that there's more butt THERE.
The illusion of perkier, bigger boobs is yours with a ruffled bikini top. It's all in the material - a ruffle will float over your ~natural assets~ so they seem to go up a cup size, but also seem so perky it's like you're wearing a bra.
Have a straight-up-and-down body type? Tie side bottoms will give the illusion of curves, as WELL as elongating your legs! Because they're adjustable, you also get to control the amount of skin you're showing, and that'll decide how curvy your butt looks. So if you want to make your butt seem smaller, tie them tighter. If you want more of a curve there, make the ties looser. Win/win.
