As one of the most influential and popular rappers in the business – it’s hard to imagine the music scene without Eminem.
But despite his incredible success and a rap career spanning over a decade – the singer says retirement could soon be looming.
In an interview with Vibe magazine, Em, aka, Slim Shady, confessed,
"Honestly, I don't know how much longer I have in this game.
"I'm always going to love hip-hop. But how much longer am I going to still do it? I couldn't give you an answer. But the day that this is not better than the last will probably be the day I stop.
“If I was rapping at 50, I don't know if I would put it out.”
And while the 37-year-old MC has been critical about his work in the past by referring to some of his previous material as “mediocre,” – he insisted his fans will ultimately be the ones who decide his fate.
He added, “The fans might say the sh-- is garbage. You don't how long people are going to want you around.”
And while most people look forward to retiring – here at MTV Classic we can’t quite envisage the ‘Not Afraid’ star living out the rest of his days on a golf course – and neither can he.
“Realistically, if I don't rap, what the f--- am I going to do? It's too late to just be unfamous right now at this point,” he said.
