She may have left rehab over a year ago – but Demi Lovato has confessed she still faces an ongoing battle with an eating disorder and self-harming.

Now, determined to inspire others, the tween superstar has bravely opened up about her painful struggles in a behind-the-scenes MTV documentary ‘Demi Lovato: Stay Strong.’

The TV special, which airs on MTV Hits tonight (Thursday March 8) @ 5.30pm (AU) and 7.30pm (NZ), will give fans an exclusive insight into the tween Queen’s life as she continues to battle with recovery and being a role model.

"I cannot tell you that I have not thrown up since treatment. I can not tell you that I have not cut myself since treatment,” she told MTV News.

"I'm not perfect. This is a daily battle that I will face the rest of my life."

Crediting her pop career for helping her deal with her demons, the singer, who dropped her third album ‘Skyscraper’ last year, added,

"Music is what I love to do; it's in my veins. I feel like I was born singing.

"Without music, it would be really, really hard to survive and really, really hard to stay in recovery.”
