The final episode of Season 2 of‘The City’ is nearly here! In the second season, romance takes a back seat as Whitney Port sets her sights firmly on establishing herself as a designer, but if she thought the road has already been rough, then she'd better buckle up and get ready for a real ride!

In the Season 1 finale of ‘The City’, Kelly Cutrone convinces Whitney to take a risk and show her line at New York Fashion Week . As Season 2 begins, Whitney’s concerned about the worst case scenario: What if the show's a total disaster?! Luckily, she needn’t have worried; the show is a stunning success. When it's all over, an uncharacteristically emotional Kelly pulls Whitney close for one last congratulatory hug and insists Whit deserves it all.
Meanwhile, Olivia Palermo gets promoted to be the new face of ELLE.com, much to Erin’s chagrin! At least they won’t be working as closely together now, or so she thinks.
Back at People's Revolution, Kelly gathers everyone around to announce Whitney's first runway show was a hit!
But there’s one person who doesn’t think so… Olivia not only fails to show at an editor’s review for Whit’s collection, but gives it a lackluster review to Joe. Luckily, Erin is on Whitney’s side, and pushes to have it included in the magazine. Whitney assumes it’s Olivia that has done her the favour - little does she know…
When Olivia is a no-show for the BTS interview with Whitney, Kelly is furious, and threatens to take Olivia down. Whitney decides it's time to start fighting her own battles, and goes head-to-head with Olivia after she finds out she interviewed her friend, instead of covering Whitney's line.

She scores points styling for a Fergie shoot, but it seems Olivia's lackluster work performance has caught up with her, and Joe tells her she won’t be going to LA to shoot it. Joe continues to defend Olivia, yet Erin refuses to hear it, telling him Olivia has done more harm than good for ELLE. And when another look is chosen for the Fergie cover, Olivia is shocked. Better luck next time?
Meanwhile, Whit is learning tough lessons about mixing business with pleaasure. Photographer Jonathan , who goes on one date with Whit, has offered to shoot her look book. "People are offering favors, you'd be stupid not to accept,” says Roxy.

Whit’s star is finally on the rise and she is beyond excited when she scores a full page feature in Glamour. Whitney wants to bring Roxy, but Kelly doesn't think it's a good idea. Unfortunately Roxy proves Kelly right, by showing up late and calling Whit’s line "ballerina gone punk rock gone a little hooker." Kelly is beyond furious, and decides to take Roxy off the project.

Meanwhile, Whitney is about to face some harsh criticism. Anne Slowey (ELLE's fashion news director) and Joe's pull Whitney’s line to bits, and by the time the meeting's over, Whit's practically in tears. But Kelly tells her not to take it so hard. “You're on Anne Slowey's radar now, ” Kelly reminds Whitney. "I'm so proud of you."
Now, there’s a new face on the block – fashion reporter Louise Roe, who Erin wants to start doing on-air coverage for ELLE.com. And they’re not the only one’s impressed with the stunning British bombshell. Whitney and Roxy meet Louise Roe at the Charlotte Ronson show, and turns out, in addition to being a fashion writer (and ELLE UK vet), she is also Freddie Fackelmayer's ex-girlfriend! "Freddie has good taste!" Whitney laughingly admits.

Joe invites Louise to the Badgley Mischka show the next day, and it’s a good thing he does. When Olivia is a no show, Louise steps in and nails it! Erin tells Louise she'd love to work with her again, though Louise says she is hesitant to "push anyone out of a job." Erin tells her, "That person needs to be pushed."

Whit is invited to show her line at Miami Fashion Week but when Kelly can’t attend, will Whit and Roxy be able to pull it off? When another designer tries to steal their model, Whit proves she’s left that sweet, pushover California girl behind, and she’s not to be messed with!
Back in New York, Joe Zee gives Olivia one last opportunity to prove herself to the magazine. Her mission? Score an exclusive interview with Zac Posen."You gotta deliver if you wanna keep your job," Joe warns. “Otherwise, Louise Roe is ready to take your place." Fortunately, she knows how to mix business with pleasure, and the interview is a success. Erin finds that Olivia knows how to live by the rule keep your friends close ... and your competition closer when she attempts to become BFFs with Louise Roe!

Up until now, Whit and Roxy have been able to work together, but now the sparks are about to fly, when Whitney pushes her line to fashion trade show buyers and blames Roxy for a failed sale. But Rox makes up for it by selling the pieces to Wink Corporate Office to get Whitney's business back on track.
Olivia and Louise continue to hit it off and Olivia tells Erin how much she likes Louise, and narks at her for trying to "pin" the two of them against each other. "First of all, the word is pit and I’m not trying to pit you against anyone," Erin snaps back. "I'm trying to get a girl here who can get the job done."

Roxy and Whitney's relationship is put to the test yet again. Whitney trusts Roxy to pull a look for a Canadian rock singer, but when the singer doesn’t wear Whitney’s line, their friendship is strained to breaking point. Since living and working together isn't working anymore, Roxy announces she'll be moving out. Problem is, her dad won’t give her the loan she needs.

But she's determined to make it on her own. Grabbing her suitcase, Roxy tells Whitney goodbye, and takes one last longing look at the apartment before disappearing into a taxi.
Olivia scores an opportunity in Japan, and at first Erin is bristling she’s leaving at such a busy time, but soon, she starts to see her trip as an opportunity. "If you can get her into Japan for the short term," Seth points out, "maybe you can get her out of ELLE for the long term."
So will Roxy really be out of Whitney’s life for good, and will Erin finally be rid of Olivia? Don't miss the explosive final episode for Season 2 of ‘The City’ when it airs Monday August 30 @ 8.30pm!
