Whitney Houston’s A-list pals turned out in force to honour the legendary singer at her funeral this weekend.

Stars including Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige and Jennifer Hudson joined the late superstar’s family for a moving service at Newark’s New Hope Baptist Church in New Jersey.

According to the Daily Mail, Alicia Keys, who described the pop icon as a “beautiful human being,” sang ‘Send Me an Angel’ at the service, followed by Stevie Wonder, who belted out ‘Love’s In Need of Love Today,’ alongside a gospel choir.

Also performing at the church was RnB hitmaker R Kelly, who recorded tracks for Whitney’s last album, and Cece Winans, one of her closest friends.

Meanwhile the ‘I Will Always Love You’ star’s cousin Dionne Warwick, her sister Patricia, music director Ricky Minor, producer Clive Davis and her ‘Bodyguard’ co-star Kevin Costner, all spoke at the three-and-a-half-hour ceremony.

But as her nearest and dearest came together to bid farewell to the 48-year-old, her ex husband Bobby Brown reportedly stormed out of the invitation-only funeral early.

According to the New York Post, the singer, who claims he was asked to move three times, left after his large entourage was told to leave.

“I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move,” he told the New York Post in a statement.

“In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene.”
