Sure, being on tour can be tough, but until you’ve been continuously pelted with pigeon poo a la Kings of Leon, we think muso’s have nothing to complain about!

Yep, the world’s hottest rock act were forced to quit mid-gig on the weekend, because they were relentlessly rained on by white bombs, thanks to an infestation of the birds in the rafters of the Verison Amphitheatre.

According to CNN, the pesky pooping pigeons bombarded the southern rockers as soon as they took to the stage.

The band’s manager Andy Mendelsohn said:

"Jared (Followill) was hit several times during the first two songs. It's not only disgusting -- it's a toxic health hazard. They really tried to hang in there,"

Even though opening bands The Postelles and The Stills came offstage earlier complaining of being pelted with pigeon crap, KOL were determined to play for St Louis fans.

"The Kings of Leon decided to carry on regardless," they said in a statement released Saturday. "The band felt it would be unfair to the fans to cancel the show at that late moment."

"We couldn't believe what The Postelles and The Stills looked like after their sets," Jared said, who describes himself as a self confessed germaphobe. "We didn't want to cancel the show, so we went for it. We tried to play. It was ridiculous."

But the decider came when Jared got poop in his mouth, and at that point the band pulled the chain, er we mean plug.

Jared said: "We had 20 songs on the set list. By the end of the show, I would have been covered from head to toe.

"The last thing I was going to do was look up ... but if that was only a couple, we must have caught them right after a big Thanksgiving dinner."

The band's drummer, Nathan Followill wrote on Twitter, "So sorry St. Louis. We had to bail, pigeons s***ing in Jared's mouth and it was too unsanitary to continue.”

After the cancelation, and presumably, a wheelbarrow or two of baby-wipes, the band released a statement saying:

"We want to apologize to our fans in St. Louis and will come back as soon as we can." The band’s publicist added, "No fans got pooped on as far as we know."

Everyone who went to the show got a full refund on tickets.
