Selena Gomez has cancelled two US gigs after her mum Mandy suffered a shock miscarriage.

According to E! Online, the ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ star pulled out of Christmas shows in both Chicago and Seattle citing a “family emergency.”

The heartbreaking news comes just three weeks after the teen songstress excitedly told fans she couldn’t wait to be a big sister.

Taking to her Twitter page to share the announcement last month, the 19-year-old wrote,

"Momma and (stepfather) Brian are finally letting me share the news. My mommy's carrying my baby brother or sister. I'm the happiest girl in the world."

Since the reports broke, thousands of fans have flooded Twitter with messages of support for the ‘Disney’ babe and her family.

And her showbiz BFF Demi Lovato also showed she was thinking of the ‘Love You Like A Love Song’ star during this difficult time.

Taking to twitter, the 'Skyscraper' songstress wrote,

“@selenagomez I love you.”

Out thoughts and hearts go out to Selena and her family.
