The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet has a bit of a theme this year. Most stars strutting the carpet seemed to be wearing tones that were in-tune with the awards colour scheme, a few dared to do their own thing, but the overall look was cool and classy - very NYC.
Here are our 'Top-10 VMAs Red Carpet Looks'.
Beyoncé was one of the few stars to wear a bold, bright colour. Sexy sophisticated, with just the right amount of bling - easily one of the 'Best In Show'.
This girl makes an under-cut look good. Her edgy hair and glowing skin are paired perfectly with the plunging neckline and mod open toed boots - sexy glam-rock.
This cute cocktail dress has a classic shape that suits this pint-sized fashionista perfectly. Smokey eyes, and a casual 'do tie the look together, but we're not sure about the boots...
We're pretty sure this is as wild as Olivia gets. Known for her classic New York style, this socialite/reality star brings her unique brand of sexy-uptown to the VMAs.
P!nk always seems to bring the right amount of rock'n'roll to the carpet. Shakira turned up in the same dress, but it was no contest, P!nk made this outfit look hot!
One of the few Aussies on the carpet, Rose Byrne looked adorable in her strapless cocktail dress. Like most, she opted for a casual hairstyle and platform peep-toe shoes - way to represent Rosie.
Although Taylor's night may have been tainted by a certain rapper, as least she can look back on her red carpet experience with a smile. The songstress was one of the few ladies to wear a full length gown, bringing true glamour to the big night.
Wow, this British export looks phenomenal! Alexa shows off her stunning pins and proves you can still look sexy in long sleeves and a high neckline - the heels and clutch tie this look together perfectly.
The R&B singer stood out on this bright turquoise mini. Natural flowing hair and killer legs were her perfect accessories - so she should have left the ankle bracelet at home - but over all a great look.
Last but not least is reality princess Kristin Cavallari. The normally casual beach babe looks fab in a silver fitted mini, a neat pony, natual make-up and sexy pumps making her the only 'Hills' hottie to make it on to our best dressed list - nice work K-Cav.
