Hollywood sweethearts Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have officially broken up.
The King and Queen of ‘High School Musical,’ who’ve been together for almost four years, have decided to go their separate ways.
“It was mutual,” a source tells US magazine. "They are still talking and still friends. There's no drama. No one cheated. They just grew up."
The lovebirds first met back in 2005 on the set of the popular tween movie series and soon became romantically involved off screen as well as well as on it.
Gushing about the pair’s relationship earlier this year, Vanessa told Glamour magazine,
“Right off the bat, we had a connection.
"I think everybody could see it. When we had our audition, they paired us together. And he was adorable.
"I think that we inspire each other. [I love] having someone to grow with."
But it seems Zac had already started pondering the single life. Last month the heartthrob told Details magazine,
"Everyone tells me [to play the field].
"I think a lot of guys would enjoy that. But I'm not really like that."
