Greatest hits album behind her, Christina Aguilera is ready for a radical change in musical direction.

The 28-year-old has dispatched with the booming power ballads (‘Beautiful’), the wartime sweetheart routine (‘Candyman’) and the ill-fated future-pop (‘Keeps Gettin Better’) and gone all indie, street-style on our asses.

The princess of reinvention is working on her as-yet-untitled new album, and has recruited some of the industries most groundbreaking female acts to give her sound an edge. Queens of cool MIA and Santigold, British electro-kids Ladytron and Aussie folktronic chick, Sia have all joined team Aguilera, giving the songstress the hottest group of muses in town.

Talking about the almost-finished results, Aggy said: “I think I'm more proud of this work than I've ever been. (Sia and I) did a lot of work on this record together, and she's just a complete gem… I think we really created some super crazy magic together.”

She added: "I experimented with so many different types of textures and sounds with my voice that I've never showcased and that I never really knew that I could do.

"Working with so many different people, I really kind of wanted to step into their worlds, them into my world and just get the best of both worlds. I really like to step outside of my own box.”

Sounds good to us, missus.

MTV Australia have been loving Sia for a while. Watch her 'killing it' at the 2009 V-MTVAAs.
