To any burgeoning rock star, it seems like Dave Grohl has it all – an ever growing army of adoring fans, sold-out tours and album sales in the millions. But it’s nice to know that even rock Gods have their off days and, as in Dave's case, still suffer stage fright!
Now, the Foo Fighters' singer has sensationally opened up about the “emotional breakdown” he suffered during a show in London in 2008, when he froze mid-song from a bout of stage fright!
He told The Sun: "That was an honest, freaked out emotional breakdown. Taylor and I play off each other live and at that point he wasn't sure what was going on - which shows by his look of total confusion.”
“I'd been terrified every night for six months before those shows. I mean, 85,000 f**king people... We'll never get used to playing stadiums."
And despite their monumental success, it seems Dave still has nagging fears that fans will ‘forget’ about them.
"We've weathered some pretty questionable music and style changes over the years, and there's always a worry that people will forget about us."
He also added he was worried that the group’s film ‘Foo Fighters: Back and Forth’, which documents their 16 year career, would change the dynamic of the group and their friendships.
He said: "I didn't want it to become a problem. I wanted it to be a good thing, but it was totally cool.
"Watching it, I saw that each person in the band had an uncomfortable moment, me included. Everyone did and I thought it was good because it means we're getting to the truth."
