‘Disney’ sensation Demi Lovato has opened up for the first time about her grueling three month stint in rehab.
The 18-year-old, who sought treatment for “emotional and physical issues,” has admitted it was the “darkest time” in her life.
In a personal video message, uploaded online, the troubled star thanked fans for their support, adding that she “wouldn’t be here today” without them.
Despite keeping tight-lipped about the exact problems that caused her to check into the facility, the songstress said she hoped to “one day raise awareness” to help other suffers.
The talented teen, who was forced to scrap a three-month tour with the Jonas Brothers in November, told fans,
“The journey that I have been on had been very, very difficult over the past few months.

“I was dealing with issues that I know not only girls just my age but of all ages are dealing with.
“People that are probably watching this video right now are dealing with the issues that I had to and I hope to one day raise awareness of everything.”
Looking happy and healthy in the footage filmed at her Los Angeles home, the stunner expressed her gratitude for the enormous support she’s received via tweets and letters, adding,
"I can't tell you how much light you brought into my life at probably the darkest time of my life."
And while she assured her followers that she’d be back to work soon, she left out any specific details of what’s next, simply saying,
“I wanted to let you guys know that I'm excited to get back to work. I can’t wait to tell you guys what the future holds.”
We can’t wait either Demi!
