"Foo Fighters have just started writing and we're going to start recording in September so life is full of music," said Grohl.
It’s welcome news for Foo fans – only four months ago Grohl told CNN the release of ‘Greatest Hits’ would mark the start of an indefinite hiatus.
He said in November:
"This greatest hits record, that's the end of something... It's time to move on into this next chapter or another phase... We're going over to do some shows in Europe, but, after that, it's like I don't even know when I'm going to see these guys. So it's kind of weird," he added
But it seems the ‘Best Of You’ hit-makers can’t stay away from each other. While Dave will continue recording Them Crooked Vulture’s eagerly awaited second album (his side project with Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Johns), Foo’s will start recording new material in tandem.
Meanwhile, drummer Taylor Hawkins has announced plans to release a new album with his band Coattail Riders in April, which will feature guest stars including QOTSA’s Brian May , Roger Taylor and The Cars’ Elliot Easton.
Foo’s yet-untitled album will be released sometime in September.
Don’t burn out fellas!
