Music legend Michael Jackson has died of a heart attack in a Los Angeles hospital.
The singer was taken by ambulance to the University of California at Los Angeles medical centre after he was found unconscious at home. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him on the way to hospital, however, he arrived in a coma and was reported dead three hours later.
The shock news comes just two weeks before the King Of Pop, 50, was due to resurrect his career with a 50-gig string of sold-out shows, called 'This Is It', at London's 02 Arena.
The music legend was due to kick off the dates on 12 July and wrap up in September. Sources claimed the show, which sold 1m tickets in a matter of hours after going on sale, was a classic in the making.
In May, the UK's Sun newspaper reported Jackson had been diagnosed with skin cancer but his management denied the story.
