Janet Jackson has joined brothers Randy and Jermaine in boycotting ‘Michael Forever - The Tribute Concert,’ organised by the King Of Pop’s mother Katherine, because it coincides with the current manslaughter trial of Michael's former physician, reports BET.com.

In a one sentence statement to the Associated Press, Janet said:

"Because of the trial, the timing of this tribute to our brother would be too difficult for me."

‘Michael Forever - The Tribute Concert’, which is to take place on October 8 in Cardiff, Wales, is tipped to have a monumental line up of mega-stars, who will honour the memory of the late King Of Pop.

“Michael gave his entire life to the world through his love, his music and his devotion to healing the planet,” Katherine said back in July.

“I am positive that this event will be an event great enough in scale, talent and imagination to form a worthy celebration of Michael's life.”

But the concert has been plagued with an array of issues since it was announced, with the promoter Global Live Events coming under fire for the timing of the show, the allocation of the show proceeds and an invitation for KISS to perform.

Fans were outraged to learn that KISS would be performing, considering Gene Simmons' unsavoury remarks about Michael in the past. The invitation has since been withdrawn.

Opening statements are scheduled to begin in the involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr Conrad Murray on Sept. 27. We’ll keep you posted.
