After only five months of being a free man, T.I could be heading back to the slammer, after he and his new wife Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle were arrested for drug possession!
The newlyweds, who were busted when cops smelt marijuana coming from the couple’s luxury car, were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. The pair were pulled over in Los Angeles after they made an illegal u-turn, according to TMZ.
After police searched the car, a small amount of what is believed to be ecstasy was found. They were released on bail at 4am local time.
The rapper, who is currently working on his new album ‘King Uncaged’, was only released from a half-way house in March this year, after he was incarcerated for violating his probation related to federal weapons charges. Although it’s not clear whether the incident is a violation of T.I.'s three-year probation, the new charges could see the hit-maker back in jail yet again.
"It's almost certain he'll end up appearing before the court here [Atlanta]” his lawyer Don Samuel told the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “But without knowing all the facts, it's premature to speculate what the court is likely to do."
Another member of T.I.'s legal team, Dwight Thomas told The Associated Press that, "We don't have a full grasp of the facts, circumstances. We don't know the violation. I will remain optimistic until this matter is favorably resolved."
"We're not making any observations at this time," said T.I.'s defense attorney Ed Garland. "This is an unfortunate occurrence, and we do not know what the outcome will be."
