She’s the queen of rock'n'roll chic, and never fails to impress MTV viewers with her effortless style.
Now our very own VJ Ruby Rose is taking her look form the TV screen to the shelves as she launches her first fashion line!
Teaming up with Aussie clothing label Milk and Honey, the super sexy star has drawn inspiration from Melbourne to New York, as well as her very own wardrobe, to launch the hot new collection.

MTV delved inside Ruby’s exciting fashion venture, set to hit shops next month, to find out how we, too, can rock this season!
MTV: So Ruby, what can we expect from your collaboration with Milk and Honey, ‘Designed By Ruby Rose’?
Ruby: I guess you can expect the style I usually wear, whether I’m out, on MTV, or DJ’ing. Funky, cool designs, easy to wear street wear, and a few little dresses for special events.
MTV: Who is the range specifically aimed at?
Ruby: I have designed the range around items that I would wear, my friends would wear and of course my amazing beautiful fans. So I guess it’s suited for 15 – 25 year olds.
MTV: And what kind of pieces can we expect?
Ruby: Lots of denim shorts and ripped jeans, singlets and boyfriend Tees.
MTV: Are you feeling nervous or excited for it to be released? Or a bit of both?
Ruby: I’m both nervous and excited. I’ve worked on it for such a long time, I just hope everyone likes it! It would be one of the best days of my life just to see someone down the street wearing one of my designs.
MTV: Have you always wanted to get involved with fashion?
Ruby: Yes, since high school. I even thought about studying it. Fashion alongside music has always been a big part of my life.
MTV: So will you wear the brand yourself?
Ruby: Hahaha, yes I imagine I will become one of those annoying celebs that wears their own clothes!
MTV: Where did you draw your inspiration from for the line?
Ruby: Art exhibitions, music, anything from blues, Jazz and classical. Aside from that I also looked at old video clips and I take in all the people I see walking down the street.
MTV: Who is your fashion icon?
Ruby: Madonna of course haha. Ever changing, always fashion forward and always true to herself.
MTV: What’s your biggest fashion tip?
Ruby: Wear clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable.
MTV: You’ve recently moved from Sydney to Melbourne – what differences in fashion do you notice between the two cities?
Ruby: I’m from Melbourne originally and I think one of the main differences is people in Melbourne wear a lot more black! But that’s the obvious thing to say. I feel like generally people in Melbourne are a bit more experimental with their clothing, whereas people in Sydney are more on trend.
MTV: You’ve been nominated for ‘Favourite Personality’ at the Astra Awards this month. After winning at last year’s event, are you feeling confident?
Ruby: Oh I do not think I will win this year at all! In fact I can pretty safely say up against Jimmy Barnes and Sarah Murdoch, and the rest of the fantastic nominees, no matter who wins I will be happy. But I don’t think I will. I feel a lot more comfortable going into it already having one [ASTRA Award] as well.
MTV: Have you got your outfit for the night planned? Will anything from your line make an appearance?
Ruby: I don’t know yet.. eeeeeeek I am so unorganized!!!
MTV: You’ve had an amazing year. What would you say are the main ways your life has changed since you won at the last Astra Awards?
Ruby: Winning that Astra was clearly the turning point in my career and since then I would just say everything that has happened has been amazing. The clothing label, Ultimate School Musical, MTV, all of it. I am very blessed.
