The film, entitled ’This Is It’, is set to hit Aussie cinemas on October 30 and will feature exclusive footage of MJ practicing for his ‘This Is It’ concerts which were due to take place at London’s 02 Arena throughout 2009 and 2010, but sadly never did.
Mostly shot at LA’s STAPLES Centre, the documentary will also feature special 3D segments and interviews with MJ’s famous friends and colleagues.
The movie has the full backing of The Estate Of Michael Jackson and proceeds will go to the Michael Jackson Family Trust – which provides financial support for MJ’s children and his many favourite charities.
Kenny Ortega, MJ’s colleague and the creative director of the ‘This Is It’ live shows, said the film: “Will show Michael as he truly was, creatively involved with every aspect of the production, from the staging and choreography, to the music, lighting, production design and conception of the original short films and video backdrops. It will also show Michael as one of the greatest entertainers in the world and one of the industry's most creative minds.”
Meanwhile, the world’s biggest music bods, including Akon and Pharrell, have paid homage to Michael and remixed tracks from The Jackson 5’s back catalogue for a new album called ’Michael Jackson: The Remix Suite’.
The alb will be released in four digital bundles of five songs and will be available to buy on August 28, followed by a new bundle every two weeks leading up to the physical release of the entire collection on October 30.
So it really does seem the music world is doing everything it can to immortalise MJ and his music - we say keep it comin'.
