Pete Wentz has well and truly moved on from Fall Out Boy.

The singer, who announced earlier this year that the rockers were on an “infinite break,” has unveiled a brand new music project.

The bassist, who was in Oz last month for a series of DJ gigs, has formed an electro-pop band called Black Cards.

Discussing his plans to resurrect his music career on Twitter, he said he understands if fans of his previous group don’t gravitate towards the new sound.

He wrote, “If it's not for you then we understand. "[But] if you enjoy it, keep coming back."

He also hinted that details about the group will be announced soon.

He added, "There will be no treasure hunt. No viral campaign.

"Just the opposite – next week things will appear on this site in a very controlled distribution."

And it seems he’s not the only Fall Out Boy member to be moving on.

Frontman Patrick Stump has already announced his plans for a solo album, and guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley have joined forces with members of Anthrax and Every Time I Die to form heavy metal supergroup The Damned Things.
