Despite the acclaim and the platinum sales, all is not well with Empire of the Sun. For starters, no one has actually seen one half of the pair, Nick Littlemore, for several months. The band launched their first national tour at the Parklife festival last weekend and Littlemore's absence was rather conspicuous. That left Luke Steele to keep the show on the road.

Speaking about his MIA partner, Steele confirmed Littlemore had "disappeared" and he had no idea where the producer was. "He disappeared about five months ago and I haven't really heard from him,” he told the ABC. “Last I heard he's in Canada and then he's in Vegas. [But] as my dad always says, you've got to keep the show on the road."

Littlemore, who also fronts Pnau, hasn't appeared in either of the group's last two videoclips, 'Standing on the Shore' and 'Without You'. When asked if Littlemore was still in the band, Steele said he had no idea. "I really don't know. He's just left me with the baby."

Steele went on to say that he plans to take the Empire of the Sun live show overseas next year – with or without Littlemore. He added that a new Sleepy Jackson album was almost finished as well. "I think my middle name should be workaholic. It never stops," he quipped.

While Jackson claims to not know where his little mate is - we hear he's in the UK lending a hand on Elton John's new album. Maybe give Elton a ring Luke...
