Think you know U2? Then think again – because it looks like the rockers are getting with the times by taking cues from their contemporaries – and going futuristic Gaga style!

According to Digital Spy the Grammy award winning rockers, who are currently working on their thirteenth album, are going for a “sci-fi” feel, with Lady Gaga’s sound guru at the helm.

Producer RedOne told Billboard Magazine: “We’ve put down a few ideas, but we don’t know how many will end up on there.”

He added: “They have a very special way of working. A song is never done until the day before it comes out almost, so you never know. Bono described [the album as] futuristic. U2 going sci-fi, or something. That’s how he described it, but I don’t know.”

When asked about his own approach to putting together the new tracks, he said: “I’m a guitar player, so it was just me and Bono and Edge playing guitar, exchanging melodies. We were just like musicians jamming. I loved it.”

Can’t wait to hear the new album guys!
