It’s official – “Backstreet’s back, alright!”
The poptastic boyband, famous for a string of cheesy chart-topping hits like ‘As Long As You Love Me,’ ‘I Want It That Way,’ and ‘Larger Than Life,’ have revealed they’re working on a brand new album!
“Backstreet Boys are absoloutely still together,” member Howie Dorough told Digital Spy.
“We're giving each other some time for solo projects, but we're also in the process of putting together the next Backstreet Boys album.”
And while the 90s stars may have attempted to step away from their iconic soppy ballads in favour of upbeat dance tracks for their 2009 record ‘This Is Us’ - they look set to thrill diehard teeny boppers by returning to their musical roots…
“Right now we're just writing and gathering songs. Our last album was a bit more Euro-dance but we're considering moving back to our pop-rock sound,” added Howie.
And who better to get some inspiration from for their new material than the Queen of pop herself, Britney Spears!

The ‘Womanizer’ star has just bagged Howie - who’s debut solo album ‘Back To Me’ drops on November 9 - to open for the South American leg of her ‘Femme Fatale’ tour.
"I'm so excited that I'm going [to be] joining @britneyspears on several dates of the Femme Fatale tour!" he tweeted this week.
