And new lovebirds Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez proved just that when they hit the town with celebrity BFF’s Beyoncé Knowles and her hubby Jay-Z.
The pair, who’ve been desperately trying to keep their relationship underwraps, arrived separately at New York’s 40/40 Club, to celebrate A-Rod’s teammate CC Sabathia’s 30th birthday.
While the sports star used the front entrance to the hotspot, the 37-year-old actress was keen not to be snapped by waiting paparazzi and slipped in through the side door.
A source tells People magazine, "It was obvious that they were deliberately avoiding each other.
"The two of them seemed hyper-aware that everybody was staring at them, waiting for them to interact."
But once inside there was nowhere to hide and the lovers were spied happily chatting and laughing away to fellow party-goers Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
After the bash, Cam and Alex left their showbiz friends behind while they dashed into a waiting private helicopter to take them a few streets across town!
It seems like they’ve taken their relationship to new heights…
