When the likes of Kanye West, Pink and Mary J Blige got together to record a track for Haiti, we knew it would be something special.

But one music legend who refused to star in remake was Jay-Z. The rapper said, "I understand the point and think it's great. But I think 'We Are The World' is like (Michael Jackson's) 'Thriller' to me. I don't ever wanna see it touched" , he said.

He continued, "I'm a fan of music. I know the plight and everything that's going on in Haiti. So I appreciate the efforts and everything, but 'We Are the World' is (musically) untouchable."

Premiering the 'We Are The World: 25 Years For Haiti' video during the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, the remake of the 1985 song sticks closely to the original, but boasts a much larger and naturally a much more contemporary cast.

Since then the song, which is a cover of the 'USA For Africa' tune written by the late Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie 25 years ago, has become a huge hit everywhere.
