Janet Jackson fans can breathe a sigh of relief – the superstar is not quitting the music industry, and in fact is in the studio working on her eleventh studio album!

After a slew of health issues, a failed tour and disastrous album sales for ‘Discipline’ in 2008, not to mention the shock death of her brother Michael, many lamented the songstress would retire from the game and instead focus on making movies.

The singer, who has recently been busy filming flicks including ‘Why Did I Get Married Too? ’ and ‘For Coloured Girls’, admitted to Larry King that her music had gone "on the back burner", but hopes to get back in the studio next year.

"Just because I've made two films back to back... it's always been a dream of mine to do something like this, so I kind of put music on the back burner to do this," she said.

"And I will continue to do more films. But definitely, I can't give up music, it's in my blood. And I love, love, love performing. So I will make more music.

"I think I have thought to go into the studio and just take my time, fool around, next year."

Janet’s new film ‘For Coloured Girls’ starring Whoopi Goldberg, Thandie Newton and Kerry Washington is based on a play about what it means to be a female of colour, and is due for release sometime in 2011.

Meanwhile, check out why we can't wait to hear more from the sassy songstress in the video below.
