She may have spent the past year in Hollywood – but it’s good to see that all the glitz and glamour of tinsel town hasn’t gone to Delta Goodrem’s head.

The Aussie songbird, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2003, has helped to launch a new cancer centre in Sydney.

Opening the final stages of the $120 million department at St Vincent’s Hospital, where she herself underwent chemotherapy treatment, the pop princess marked her commitment to the research project by leaving her handprint in cement on site.

“I was treated at St Vincent's, so I know it very well,” the hitmaker, who’s now the ambassador for the centre, told Sky News.

“I think you can have a totally different perspective when you've been on the other side.

“As someone who has gone through cancer, you always have to make sure you're on top of your health - I think forevever, you're changed.”
