As you may recall, a story went round last year saying baggage handlers at London's Heathrow Airport had lost his laptop - the same laptop that contained the only version of his new album. While the laptop did go missing, Harris has now revealed that he had several back-ups of the material.
"The first tactic of delaying the album was pretending that I lost it at Heathrow. That one worked pretty well", he told the Popjustice website.
"I should make it clear that they did in fact lose our bags – that is fact," he explained. "But it was not true that the album was in them. I would never check a hard drive in luggage. So the thing about Heathrow wasn't so much a lie, as …well …an untruth."
Harris's new album is currently scheduled for release midway through 2009. The first single, 'I'm Not Alone', has already shot up the UK charts and it follows on from the international hit (and Dizzee Rascal collaboration) 'Dance Wiv Me'.
