Judging by the tweets that have been flooding in, the most anticipated night of the European music calendar certainly lived up to its hard-partying reputation!
Selena Gomez, who was the hostess with the most-ess at the '2011 MTV EMA' held at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena tweeted,
"Thank you MTV for having me host the EMA this year. Thank you to all that followed me throughout this weekend. Thank you to everyone who tuned into this year's MTV EMA I had such an amazing time!!! I love you all."
Teen idol Justin Bieber also showed his missus some heart-felt love writing: "Great job tonight @selenagomez tonight at the EMA's. proud of u,"
Dance-floor Kings LMFAO lived up to their hardcore clubbing rep by holding an after party! And it appears Justin was in the mood to celebrate his wins for 'Best Male' and 'Best Pop' - after the ceremony he partied with ‘Jersey Shore’s JWoww, his girlfriend Selena and presenter Hayden Panettiere.
“Went out and celebrated at the @LMFAO after party and did a little shufflin with the fellas. #goodtimes", Justin wrote.
"My party crew 2nite was #REAL - @selenagomez @alfredoflores @carinmb @scooterbraun @JENNIWOWW @haydenpanettier - #greatpeople #superrandom," he shared.
Meanwhile 'Best New' artist Bruno Mars tweeted "Im not the biggest fan of red carpets or Live TV but for the first time last night I really enjoyed myself. Thanks MTV that was fun as sh--."
Katy Perry, who won Best Live thanks to her spectacular California Dreams tour also jumped on the social networking site to thank her fans for her win.
"Thank U to all the AMAZING Katycats who voted me best LIVE! Thank u for the commitment!" she wrote. "Tomorrow I play Dublin, over 120 shows for the CDT!"
She cleaned up last year, and once again Lady Gaga dominated by scoring 'Best Female', 'Biggest Fans', 'Best Video' and 'Best Song (Born This Way)'!
"We won 4 EMA'S. ... Watching Little Monsters win alongside Born This Way was life changing. Born This Way means more to me than anything I've ever created. Thank you for always sticking by me. I was drunk all night with happiness. Sometimes I can't believe Born This Way has been out only 5 months. OVER THE MOON."
