Amy Winehouse died after consuming a lethal amount of alcohol.

According to The Sun, an inquest into the late singer’s death showed that she had drunk a “very large quantity of alcohol” and was more than five times over the UK drink-driving limit when she passed.

Coroner Suzanne Greenaway gave a verdict of "death by misadventure," confirming that the "unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels (of alcohol) was her sudden and unexpected death."

The ‘Rehab’ star’s doctor Christina Romete, who last saw the hitmaker the night before she died, told the inquest that she had started drinking again shortly before her death, after completely abstaining from alcohol for a period of time.

"She was calm, she was coherent. She was tipsy I would say, but she didn't slur and was able to hold a full conversation.

"She talked about future things. She said, 'I have not achieved a lot of the things I wanted'. She was looking forward to the future."

According to The Sun, three empty vodka bottles, including two large and one small, were found near Amy’s body at her London home where she died on July 23 this year.
