Diddy has spoken out about the ferocious war of words between Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Kim, saying he refuses to take sides.

The hip hop mogul, who has history with both rappers (he currently works with Nicki and produced for Lil Kim back in the 90’s) has weighed in on the barbs exchanged between the femcees, saying:

"I wouldn't be around Nicki if I ever heard [something] negative about Kim. I've never heard nothing like that," Dids explained to Funkmaster Flex’s Hot97 radio show. "Right now, Nicki Minaj? That's who my artist is. That's who I consult. That's who I do business with. I no longer do business with Kim on that level, but Kim will always have a special place in my heart."

“When it comes to just being an MC, then I've got to stand back,”
he continued. “If they want to do things and be MCs, that's their business. I'm not with any negativity. I'm not with no beef. I love both of them."

But while beef between hip hop artists is as much a part of the industry as bling and high tops, fellow female rapper Trina said the conflict is doing hip-hop more harm than good, and urged the chart-toppers to be more ladylike!

"I don't think it's good for hip-hop ... especially when it comes to women," she told NBC Miami Nightside. "I think hip-hop needs to unify. I think that it needs to be a bridge that you're building together. So many new artists are trying to get into the hip-hop genre and I think they get drowned in the midst of it … we're all adults and we're all grown … we just need to handle our business like women."
