While the floods continue across Queensland - popstar Jessica Origliasso has spoken out about being caught up in the disaster herself.

The songstress, who makes up one half of music duo The Veronicas, is currently in an area of Brisbane with her parents, which is now under water.

In an interview with Austereo radio, the Aussie star, whose sister Lisa is currently overseas, revealed,

"We headed out yesterday and stocked up as much as we could.

"We were actually told that our area wasn’t going to lose power so we prepared a little, but it suddenly went out, and we’re not sure if it will get turned back on - it probably won’t for a fair few days."

And Jess also revealed her concerns for the siblings' beloved musical gear.

"We have a warehouse that’s going to go under that’s got a lot of musical equipment. It’s a bit unfortunate we weren’t able to move it in time.”

But, despite any damaged possessions, she’s still determined to encourage as much support as possible for the people who need it most.

“Possessions can be replaced - it’s people that can’t.

"Do everything you can to keep everyone safe because it’s really hard times at the moment.”
