Well, Eminem promised that his next album would be very different from the last, and judging by unofficial track list that has been revealed on Rapradar.com, he wasn’t kidding…
Marshal Mathers, who recently opened up his circle of producers beyond his long time mentor Dre to include the likes of DJ Khalil, Just Blaze and Jim Jonsin, has teamed up with an unlikely bevy of chart toppers including popstrels P!nk, Rihanna and Kobe for his latest album ‘Recovery’.
His manager, Paul Rosenberg told Billboard last month that fans can expect a record that is “more accessible to fans,” saying, “The last album was really for the core Eminem fans. I think this record will open that up a bit.”
And it seems the risks are paying off! The lead single from the album ‘Not Afraid’ débuted at #1 in the states, and has peaked at #3 in Australia.
In other Em news, T.I has revealed that it was Slim who helped him through his time in the slammer.
"My management reached out to his management. Just in hopes of getting him on a record. He wrote me since I was in the joint,” he told MTV News. "Em personally reached out to me, and we been speaking ever since, especially since I went through my situation [with having to go to prison].” He told MTV News. “[He would] just kinda remind me that 'I've been through dark period in my life too. You're gonna make it. You're one of the ones we need. Stand tall and walk the walk.' It was incredibly helpful. It was incredibly noble of him, in my eyes, to even take the time out to reach out to me."
And it seems the bromance has developed into more than just pen pals. Yesterday, TIP revealed that the pair are recording for his upcoming album ‘King Uncaged’, due for release before the end of the year.
