Adam Young aka Owl City is still buzzing from the success of his debut single ‘Fireflies’, the single that knocked pop-shocker Ke$ha out of the #1 spot.

MTV.com.au caught up with the charismatic “shy boy from the middle if nowhere in southern Minnesota” to talk coping with fame, insight into future collaborations and how celebrity has brought him one step closer to ice cream.

With the success of Ocean Eyes you’ve been thrust into the limelight. What way has your life changed?
Adam Young:
My life is exactly the same as it always has been, I just have a lot more empty McDonald's bags lying around my house. I also travel a lot more than I used to.

What are the good and bad things about worldwide fame?
AY:
There are really no bad things other than getting assigned "B" or "E" seats on airplanes. I'm the kind of guy who needs his space, you understand.

You’ve hit # 1 all over the globe and you’re only 23. What more would you like to achieve?
AY:
I'd like to be the first human ever to hit a golf ball on the surface of the moon but unfortunately Alan Shepard's super lunar swing officially sealed the deal.

What the most extravagant thing you’ve treated yourself to since becoming famous?
AY:
Moose Tracks ice cream.

Can we expect the next album soon?
AY:
Why yes. Yes you can.

Are there plans for any collaboration on that?
AY:
I am being sneaky about it. Who knows?

Which artists are on your wish list to work with one day?
AY:
Shaquille O'Neal and/or Hulk Hogan.

You made the first two independent records in your parent’s basement. Where do you work from now?
AY:
Fortunately I was able to purchase a house of my very own with a lovely basement in which I work now. I don't have to unplug the furnace anymore.

Have you been sent anything crazy from female fans?
AY:
No. Only middle aged men enjoy Owl City.

If it all ended tomorrow what would you do instead of music?
AY:
I'd move to Australia and get a job at Taco Bell. Wait.

Your sound is very unique, can you see yourself moving into other genres. If so which would you like to try?
AY:
Believe it or not, electronic pop music isn't my favorite. And here I am sitting in Oxford, England doing an interview for MTV in Australia for a solo electronic pop project. HAHAHAHA. Isn't life ironic??
