With all the popularity and squillions made from the reality TV show The Hills, you would think that stars could put their differences aside. But 'good girl' Lauren Conrad admits the show has brought out the worst in her and her entourage. No kidding.
In an interview published in the popular US magazine Seventeen, Lauren said, "There just so much drama I didn't expect, I actually came dangerously close to not doing season three, because I really didn't want to do the show with Heidi and Spencer".
Heidi Montag, resident outcast of the postcode and EX-BFF of Lauren also found herself questioning the idea of a third season. The drama between the two began back in the second season when Heidi started dating Spencer Pratt. The drama continued to escalate when sex tape rumours of Lauren and her former boy friend Jason Wahler surfaced, also believed to have been speared by Heidi and Spenser. And while both parties threatened to bail the show, the producers have insisted the third season go ahead. Outwardly there's a lot of noise about reconciliation, but we know the drama makes too good telly, and besides, the ratings are through the roof.
Producers aren't the only ones making a buck out of the series. Both the girls have found ways to expand their franchise; Heidi had set her ambitions high and recently unveiled the summer collection of her fashion line Heidiwood.
She also wants another crack at singing, yes, even after her devastating first single earlier this year. But this time she's gonna switch it up. Heidi recently told USA Today she wants to record a Christian album. "I have been the most religious person since I was 2 years old. I always felt this crazy connection to God. [I consider myself] kind of non-denominational Baptist." Could of fooled us Heidi.
Lauren isn't far behind, also recently launching her self-titled clothing line. In fact, Lauren seems to be making a little more ground - being invited to present her collection at LA fashion week and award the best new fashion designer of 2008. Karma's a bitch eh Heidi?
Will Heidi and Spenser actually tie the knot and will their entourage ever be complete again? Will Lauren ever find success as a fashion mag hag? Don't forget to tune for all the Hills goodness with girls on MTV Monday @ 5pm.
