After months of anticipation, weeks of careful outfit planning, and hours of rigorous preening - the biggest names in the music biz came together for the ‘2010 MTV Video Music Awards!’

With a guest list stuffed full of the industry’s hottest stars, thousands of fans gathered at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre to catch a glimpse of their idols.
Never one to shy away from a chance to dress up, our favourite fashionista Lady Gaga was one of the first celebs to strut her stuff along the pristine white carpet.
Up for a massive 13 VMA nominations, the ‘Alejandro’ star rocked a naturally over-the-top floor-length multi-coloured Alexander McQueen gown, matched with newly dyed grey and blue locks, and a golden feather like crown.
Meanwhile fellow popstar Katy Perry made sure was the ultimate ‘Teenage Dream’ in a cleverly patterned Marchesa mini, Jimmy Choo shoes and a Swarovski clutch.
“I feel like an ice skater,” she gushed about her barely-there gown.
And despite arriving without her funnyman fiancé Russell Brand – she made sure she had a special reminder of him with her!
“My hubby-to-be is on my nails,” she laughed – showing off a unique manicure with her lover’s face emblazoned on her tips!
Next up was ‘Tik Tok’ songstress Ke$ha. And after recent revelations that she likes to raid through garbage for clothes, the popstar proved she wasn’t kidding by opting for a dress made out of a bin liner!
“I put it together,” she said of her custom-made gown, accessorized by a black feather scarf and turquoise chunky rings.
Meanwhile Selena Gomez hit the right note with her choice of silver strapless Reem Acra gown with blue sequin detailing.
And the stunning brunette was keen to show her support for fellow teen sensation Justin Bieber.
Talking about the ‘Baby’ singer’s nomination for ‘Best new Artist’ she said, "I think he deserves it.
"I think he's worked really hard. I think he works harder than a lot of people I know, so he deserves it."
Meanwhile ‘Hills’ ladies Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt added plenty of glamour to the runway.
Lo opted for a one shoulder little gold number, while Steph chose to cover up in a summery maxi dress.
She joked to MTV, "I never wear long dresses!"
And our official guest correspondent, Audrina Patridge showed off her enviable figure and truly sparkled in an ultra short silver Issaac Mizrahi dress and Balmain shoes.
Arriving without her Australian beau Corey Bohan, the reality babe was busy running around gossiping with some of the event’s biggest guests as they arrived!
