It appears Duffy isn’t taking the notorious ‘second album slump’ too well, with reports that the songstress is set to quit the biz after disappointing sales!

She may have wowed us with her sultry soul voice and inimitable lyrics, but according to a ‘source’ performing music for the love of it just isn’t enough reward for the Welsh songstress, after low sales of her new single left her disenchanted with the biz.

“She’s really down about the last album, ‘Endlessly,’” a source close to the chart-topping star told the mirror.co.uk.

“It didn’t sell well and charted terribly and she isn’t trying again and making a comeback.”

Even though she’s only been on the scene for a relatively short time, the Duffster is apparently already ready for retirement, and is happy enough to move to the country, have babies with her rugby boyfriend Mike Phillips and wallow in her millions!

“She wants to have a quiet life and start over. Duffy made a truckload of cash with the first album and through her endorsements with Diet Coke, so she’s comfortable and able to enjoy some down-time. She’s not got management right now and has met a few people about taking over. But she’s just not interested".

The Mirror goes on to say that the ‘Mercy’ star sold fewer than 4,000 copies of her single ‘Well, Well, Well’ in the three days after it was released just before Christmas – which pales in comparison to the half a million odd copies of ‘Mercy’ that were sold and her top ten debut album ‘Rockferry’.

Say it ain’t so Duffy! We’ll keep you posted.
