Universally adored and poised to become one of the biggest superstars on
the planet, Chris Brown had the world at his feet. But since the assault on girlfriend Rihanna just a few hours before the Grammy Awards, the public perception of the singer was tarnished beyond repair. While some of his fans stay loyal, many others ascertain they’ll never be able to get past Chris’ actions.
Almost immediately after the incident the press laid siege, and the now-infamous leaked picture of a bruised and battered Rihanna sparked global outrage. In court, Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault charges, agreed to 180 days of community labour and a stay away order from Rihanna, extended for five years.
Despite sincere public apologies, his interviews were poorly received. Rihanna on the other hand kept silent; that is until she taped an interview with Diane Sawyer.
In an initial interview with MTV, Chris wouldn’t go into details about what transpired that night, but after Rihanna’s revealing February interview went to air, Chris agreed to give a response.
Make sure you tune-in to MTV on channel 124 for the exclusive interview. Find out what happened that night, how he feels about the changed public perception and what you can learn from this situation as well.
