Kanye West’s hotly-anticipated fifth album is set to drop next month– but without the influence of superstar Michael Jackson, there might have been no new tongue twisting lyrics to record.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror, the rapper - who’s new release ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ will hit the shelves on November 22 - revealed how the King of Pop inspired his comeback.

He said, “With the passing of Michael Jackson, I feel a responsibility to bring things to our generation that can inspire and bring real culture to pop culture.”

Which was just as well, seeing as after his infamous stage invasion at the ‘2009 MTV Video Music Awards,’ where he interrupted Taylor Swift’s ‘Best Female Video’ acceptance speech, the ‘Gold Digger’ star was planning to give up music for good.

He added, “After the MTV thing I quit doing music. I had to get back into the world's grace. I went to Japan, Hawaii, to get away. I thought I was going to give it all up. It's only through divine intervention that I am here today."

And while he and the country pop princess have since made peace – there’s still one Hollywood star he’s got beef with – Lindsay Lohan.

Blaming the socialite for the hold-up in his clothing line hitting the shops, the hip-hop bad boy, who’s due to fly to Oz this week for a promo tour, moaned,

“Have you heard of a little thing called Lindsay Lohan's Ungaro collection? That was like the 9/11 of fashion. It was game over for me after that as no one would take a celebrity trying to do fashion seriously.”
