When George Clooney teamed up with MTV for ‘The Hope For Haiti Now’ telethon he promised fans “a lot of great musicians.”

And he wasn’t kidding.

So far the incredible New York City line-up includes, Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, and Sting.

While Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, and a group performance by Keith Urban, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow will perform in Los Angeles.

The London line-up will feature Coldplay and a group performance by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, and Rihanna.

The global telethon, to be broadcast on MTV this Saturday (January 23) at 12;00pm (AEST), will be hosted by George Clooney in Los Angeles, and by the former Fugees star Wyclef in New York. The songs will then be released onto iTunes the following day.

Speaking on the red carpet at the Golden Globes George said, “It’s a good way and a good time to focus a lot of attention when…this is a very difficult time for people to be giving, so it just shows how compassionate people are.”

All proceeds will be split evenly among the five relief organisations currently working in Haiti: Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF and Yele Haiti Foundation.
