While plenty of pop wannabes may dream of achieving just a slice of Sia Furler’s success – the Aussie songstress has insisted that being famous is the “worst thing that can happen.”

In fact, the ‘Clap Your Hands’ hitmaker is so fed up of being a popstar that she’s announced she’s giving it up for good.

"I'm not touring or doing appearances or being in videos or doing interviews anymore," she told her fans on Twitter.

"I'll make music and put it out eventually, just without touring or promoting it. And I'll make bank writing pop songs for pop starz.

"Fame is the worst thing that can happen to a person. I choose not to appear in anything publicly.”

It’s not the first time the songstress, who has five studio albums under her belt, as well as collabs with Christina Aguilera and David Guetta, has slammed the negative aspects of being a household name.

Back in 2010, she told The Times,

“Fame made me develop a panic disorder.

“The downsides are so overwhelming that, for me, there is no payoff."
