Was Amy Winehouse plotting a supergroup before her untimely death? According to her producer, the answer is yes!

The UK sonsgstress, who died age 27 in July this year from accidental alcohol poisoning, had allegedly written all the songs for a third album but was in no mad rush to release it – in fact, she’d planned to form a supergroup to record a jazz album first, according to the suntimes.com.

Producer Salaam Remi said at a playback of Amy’s posthumous 'Lioness: Hidden Treasures' collection that the 'Rehab' hitmaker was hoping to team up with saxophone player Soweto Kinch and Questlove of The Roots, who appears on the ‘Lioness’ tracks ‘Half Time’ and ‘Best Friend’.

'There were a bunch of other names bouncing around,' he added.

‘She had written down everything she wanted to do.’

Remi, who produced most of the music on ‘Lioness’ had also worked on the singer's top charting albums ‘Frank’ and ‘Back To Black’, added that Amy was a perfectionist when it came to her music.

“She was taking her time with it, and at the end of the day all of her songs are somewhat autobiographical, so she had to live through something, then get out of it and then look back at it to be able to write about it,” he said.

Talking about the songs she penned, he added, “Who knows what will happen in the future with that.”

'Lioness: Hidden Treasures' will drop on December 5 with proceeds from sales going to The Amy Winehouse Foundation, set up after her death to help struggling young people.
