Fans of Fergie may get quite a shock when her next album is released.

The Black Eyed Peas singer is reportedly turning her back on pop to make a solo rock record instead.

The singer, who’s currently on tour with the ‘Boom Boom Pow’ group, is believed to be starting work on the follow up to her 2006 debut ‘The Duchess’ at the end of the year.

And we have former Guns N’ Roses star Slash to thank for letting the dog out the bag.

He told Metal Hammer, "I might actually do a rock record with Fergie, because she wants to do a rock record so I might get involved with her on that. She's got this killer rock 'n' roll voice."

The pair had previously collaborated on a track called 'Beautiful Dangerous' for Slash's upcoming solo LP.
